4 Reasons to Finance Your 2025 Honda at Your Honda Dealership

Dealership financing isn't always one of the first financing options you might think of when looking to get a car loan. However, it's the financing option that's beneficial for the largest group of people. Between how much time it saves and how it benefits people with lower credit scores, it's something you'll want to take a look into when you visit the Honda dealership to pick out your next car. more 4 Reasons to Finance Your 2025 Honda at Your Honda Dealership 1. It's One of the Most Convenient Financing Options Not all lenders allow you to apply for financing online, but we do. Once you've got that application filled out, you can sit back, relax, and wait for a reply. We send your application to multiple lenders, so that eliminates the shopping around aspect of trying to find a loan with great terms. If you're approved for a loan, then you can come by and pick out your next car, sign the paperwork, and drive home in your new Honda. The process takes almost no time at all. 2. It's an Option for People with Poor Credit Getting financing when you have poor credit can be tough, especially from a bank or credit union. However, we lend to people that banks and credit unions often refuse to lend to. You don't need a perfect credit score to get dealership financing, so we enable people to buy cars when they wouldn't have been able to otherwise. 3. It's Beneficial for People with Great Credit People with excellent credit scores can often qualify for great promotional financing offers. The national average interest rate for car loans varies over time, but in the third quarter of 2024, it was 6.61 percent for people buying a new car. By qualifying for certain promotions Honda runs, you can save a lot of money by getting a loan with a much lower interest rate. Some examples of interest rates you can get with these promotions include 1.9 percent and 2.49 percent. You can even get a loan with zero percent APR when buying some models. 4. It Eliminates the Need to Compromise Nobody should have to compromise and buy a car from a different automaker when they want a Honda. However, some buyers may have to do that. This is because some lenders ask you to buy a vehicle from a particular dealership within their network when they approve you for a car loan. If there's no Honda dealer in their network, then you won't be able to get a new 2025 Honda. That's never a problem when you go to the Honda dealer for financing. Come by Ed Martin Honda in Indianapolis, IN for all your car financing needs. We have a wide selection of new and pre-owned vehicles for you to choose from.

3 Signs Your Honda Needs Maintenance

As time passes, even high-quality Honda parts will slowly wear out. Worn parts can cause numerous problems, ranging from leaks to decreased performance, and could even result in an accident. As your Honda dealership, we want you to know a few signs that something is wrong and you need to visit us for maintenance. more 3 Signs You Need To Visit Your Honda Dealership for Maintenance Soft Brake Pedal The brake pedal should feel firm when you press down on it and produce increased resistance as you apply more pressure to it. The resistance is caused by pressurized brake fluid that forces the calipers against the spinning rotors to generate the friction that stops your wheels. If you push on the pedal and feel little resistance, something is wrong. Low brake fluid pressure is caused by a leak in the braking system or an air bubble. Air can enter the sealed brake system over time, and the bubbles it forms block the fluid's movement. A hole in one of the brake hoses or lines results in fluid leaking and dropping pressure in the system. We'll examine your brakes and fix the problem so you can drive safely again. Cracked Wiper Blades Good wiper blades are essential for safe driving in rainy or snowy conditions. The blades are manufactured from high-quality rubber, giving them a longer service life and allowing them to quickly and effectively keep your windshield clear. In time, these blades lose their suppleness and harden due to exposure to sunlight, rain, cold, and heat. As the blades become less flexible, they can crack, and rubber pieces will break off. Damaged blades are less effective at keeping the windshield clean, reducing visibility. In addition, cracked blades can scratch the glass, potentially causing a crack in the windshield. We can replace damaged blades in minutes. Cupped Tires Cupping is a type of damage to the edge of the tread that looks like sections have been scooped out at regular intervals. It occurs when the tread hits the surface with more force than it should. If it appears only on one tire, it could be caused by poor balance. We correct this by attaching the affected tire to our tire balancing machine. It will identify any imbalance, and we will add weights to the affected areas to fix the issue. If more than one tire is cupped, your wheel alignment could be the problem. Alignment is the angle of a tire seen from directly ahead and from above, and whether it's angled forward or backward. The wheel alignment can be altered due to impact with hard objects or traveling over irregular terrain. We'll connect your wheels to our wheel alignment machine, which will readjust their angles. A car's AC vent near Indianapolis, Indiana

Honda Air Conditioning Maintenance: Ensuring Optimal Performance

AC components can become damaged or wear out due to age, and this can cause problems ranging from no airflow to strange noises or a wet carpet. As your Honda dealer, we'd like to tell you a few signs you'll need to visit us for AC maintenance. more The compressor is the most important part of the AC system, and if it fails, the AC won't work. It acts as a pump to push refrigerant and air through the AC so the air can be cooled and then blown into the cabin on demand. If it's quiet and you listen closely, you'll hear the click of the compressor clutch switching the compressor on and off as the air moves through the system. A compressor can fail due to age, and you'll usually hear grinding or clunking sounds before this happens. If the compressor suddenly stops working, the most common reason is an electrical problem. Broken wiring or a blown compressor fuse will immediately shut the compressor down until the problem is fixed. We'll examine your compressor and can quickly replace the fuse or the wiring to bring it to life again. Wet Floor If your passenger front carpet is unexpectedly wet, there could be a problem with the AC's drainage. Water is removed from the air before it is chilled, and it collects in the evaporator heater box positioned behind the front passenger seat fireboard. The water then drains out through a rubber drain pipe, creating the puddles you'll often see under your Honda on a hot day. Bacteria growth can block the drainpipe, and the heater box will fill and overflow through the fireboard to soak the front passenger carpet. We can quickly fix this problem by cleaning the heater box and replacing the old drain pipe, then cleaning the fireboard and carpet with an antibacterial cleaning solution to remove any remaining bacteria. Damaged Blower Resistor If your AC blows air at the same speed regardless of the speed setting you choose, the blower resistor may have failed. The blower resistor controls the speed of the blower motor, which blows air into your cabin. When you choose a speed setting, the resistor locks the motor to that speed until you change it. The resistor can wear out with time and remain stuck on its last speed setting. Our technicians will replace the resistor, and the AC will blow at the speed you require again. If your AC has a problem, contact us today at Ed Martin Honda today..

6 Benefits of Getting OEM Parts From Your Honda Dealer

Over time, some parts of your car will wear out. While looking for a reliable spare part for your vehicle, most mechanics will recommend Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. So, what makes them so special? Here are six benefits of using OEM parts from your trusted Honda dealer. more 1. Compatibility Aftermarket parts are manufactured to work with multiple models. As a result, they're more of a one-size-fits-all rather than a perfect fit. OEM products are designed and tested to meet the exact specifications and quality standards set by the car manufacturer. They are made to fit perfectly without any adjustments. This ensures all components smoothly work together, enhancing the overall performance of your car. 2. Quality Using genuine parts ensures your car maintains its original performance features, including handling, fuel efficiency, and safety features. Due to high-quality materials and strict manufacturing procedures used in producing genuine parts, they tend to be more durable than several aftermarket products. This minimizes the need for frequent repairs and replacements. 3. Safety Assurance Your safety on the road is of utmost importance. Parts from the original Honda manufacturer undergo rigorous testing to meet safety standards, enhancing your peace of mind on the road. Aftermarket parts are produced by a wide range of manufacturers, resulting in a great deal of variability in quality. Poor quality auto parts can have a severely negative impact on your car and affect your driving experience. This is particularly critical for parts related to the braking system, steering, and suspension. 4. Warranty OEM products often come with a manufacturer's warranty. When you use genuine parts for repairs and maintenance, you can maintain the validity of your warranty. This warranty protects you against defects and premature malfunctioning, ensuring that if something goes wrong, you can get a new part or have it repaired or replaced at no additional cost. Installing generic parts could cause disputes with the manufacturer if warranty service is required. 5. Enhanced Performance Honda vehicles are popular for their performance and reliability. Original parts ensure your car consistently performs at its best. Generic parts may not offer the same level of performance and may adversely affect your Honda's efficiency. 6. Resale Value If you decide to sell or trade-in your Honda vehicle in the future, using original parts can significantly increase its sale value. Prospective buyers often trust the condition of a vehicle that has been using genuine parts. Original parts are essential for your vehicle's longevity and performance. If you're in need of parts or services for your Honda vehicle, visit us at Ed Martin Honda in Indianapolis, IN. We have excellent, genuine parts and skilled technicians who are here to help!

Need New Headlights? Visit Your Honda Dealership

Poor visibility plays a role in many nighttime accidents. Without strong headlights, you put yourself in danger when driving after dark. It's wise to check all the external lights of your car once a month. If you notice the following warning signs with your headlights, visit your local Honda dealership to have new headlights installed without delay. more Flickering Light There are three main types of headlights: halogen, high-intensity discharge (HID), and light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs, which have a typical lifespan of 1,000 hours, 5,000 hours, and 50,000 hours, respectively. When nearing the end, halogen bulbs will often start to flicker as the filament breaks or burns out. HID and LED bulbs are less likely to flicker but might, especially if there's a problem with the harness, wiring, or underlying electrical system. Dimming Light If you find yourself squinting to see the road ahead at night, pull over and inspect the brightness of your headlights. One or more of the bulbs may be fading, which is common with all bulb types as they fail. If one bulb is dimming, you may need to replace both bulbs in the pair as the second one probably doesn't have long to live. Dirty, Hazy Lenses Headlight lenses can gradually become excessively dirtied or scratched, causing the light to become hazy or yellow. You can try cleaning a dirty headlight lens to see if it resolves the problem. If your lenses are severely scratched or oxidized by too much exposure to UV rays, you'll need to have them replaced. Moisture Behind a Lens Headlight lenses need a watertight seal to keep all moisture out. If you notice water behind the lens, remove it, dry the harness out, and ask a technician to properly seal the lens. If left unresolved, moisture can quickly damage the bulb socket and connected wiring. Only Low or High Beams Working Sometimes, electrical problems cause only the low-beam bulbs to fail, or only the high beams. Although you still have light, your visibility is greatly diminished with low beams alone. And it's hazardous to drive with only high beams working, as you need to dim them whenever another car passes, which would leave you driving in darkness. Blowing Headlight Fuse A fuse protects the headlight bulbs from unexpected electrical surges. A repeatedly blowing fuse might point to trouble with the wiring, battery, or alternator. It might also be caused by a faulty or incorrectly installed bulb. Have your headlights inspected and repaired today, with new bulbs installed, at Ed Martin Honda in Indianapolis, IN. We're a local dealership providing terrific vehicles, deals, maintenance, and customer service to the drivers of our community and farther afield.

Honda Sensing Driver-Assistive Features The Adaptive Cruise Control system includes Low-Speed Follow, allowing the Honda to autonomously slow to a complete stop and accelerate again. The Auto High-Beam Headlights dim as a courtesy to other drivers and brighten when the road is clear. The Collision Mitigation Braking System uses a front-facing camera to detect and prevent frontal impacts, protecting all occupants. Driver Attention Monitor detects signs of fatigue or inattention, such as repeated drifting, and suggests breaks to help maintain safety. Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and the Road Departure Mitigation System all work together to keep you safely within your intended lane. These systems prevent you from drifting over the painted road lines and help you make lane-changing maneuvers only when it's safe. The Traffic Sign Recognition System scans passing road signs and displays them on your onboard screen.
