Where to Park for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum

As long as there is no race or other public event taking place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, museum visitors can use the main car park free of charge. During big events, museum guests may need to park outside the track and make their way in on foot.

Know the Tours

There is a range of tours available to museum visitors, each offering a unique insight into The Brickyard.

Basement in 30

This tour offers race fans the chance to get down into the underground storage area of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Previously reserved for VIPs, these 30-minute tours cost between $90-$125 depending on when you want to visit.

Kiss the Bricks Tour

After a spin around the legendary oval, this tour stops at the Yard of Bricks, allowing guests to kiss the bricks in the same way as every Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 winner since 1996. The Kiss the Bricks Tour costs between $15-$22 depending on age and is free for museum members.

Golf Cart Tour

This in-depth tour takes around two hours to complete, visiting many of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s most famous spots. You’ll also be treated to refreshments and a one on one conversation with a professional guide. The Golf Cart Tour costs $50 for adults and $25 for those aged 12-15. Unfortunately, younger children are not permitted on the tour.

Accessibility

The museum endeavors to ensure that motorsport history is for everyone, and with that in mind, all buildings and tours are regularly improved for visitors with disabilities. Guests can expect to find:

  • • Free disabled parking to the south and west of the museum.
  • • Wheelchair accessible tour buses.
  • • Special ‘touch tours’ of certain vehicles in the exhibits for those with visual impairments.
  • • Printed texts of the bus tour narrations for those with hearing impairments.
