Power and Performance

The 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque generated by the HR-V’s naturally aspirated 2.0L inline-4 engine is a great match for the SUV’s low curb weight of well under 3,300 pounds. Honda has also included the fuel-saving Eco Assist system and Active Noise Cancellation technology, which eliminates excess vibrations, with this powerplant. During a spirited drive, you can switch the continuously variable transmission to its engaging sport mode.

In addition to coming standard with hill start assist and hill descent control, every HR-V offers Real Time AWD. This system keeps power biased towards the front axle as the vehicle cruises in normal conditions, but it can send extra torque to the rear wheels for more traction when more grip is needed.

Passenger Cabin

Belying its affordable price tag, the HR-V houses a roomy interior with a premium feel.  Standard amenities include an automatic climate control system, electrostatic-touch reading lights in the second row, and a center console that acts as a comfortable armrest while providing a generous amount of storage space. In EX-L trim, the cabin sports a one-touch, tilting power moonroof, genuine leather upholstery, and an 8-way power driver’s seat.

As for passenger and cargo space, there’s plenty of it! While front passengers get 41.9 inches of legroom, those in the rear will be able to stretch out with 37.7 inches of legroom. Thanks to nearly 40 inches of headroom, taller occupants won’t feel cramped. 60/40 split-folding rear seats expand cargo space from 24.4 cubic feet to 55.1 cubic feet when they’re folded down.

Multimedia and Connectivity

A responsive 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard equipment on LX and Sport models, but the EX-L will come with a 9-inch display offering more customization settings and smart shortcuts. Both versions feature integration for iOS and Android smartphones, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and streaming audio, and speed-sensitive volume compensation. EX-L models add support for SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio.

When you use your smart device to connect with the available HondaLink app, you’ll be able to remotely access vehicle stats like total mileage and oil life. The app makes it easy to schedule servicing for the HR-V, as well.

The HR-V’s sporty looks, capable powertrain, and inviting interior is sure to win over drivers looking for the perfect small SUV. Get in touch with Ed Martin Honda today, and we’ll set you up with a test drive!
