From small cozy taprooms to large country farmhouses, you’ll find a wide variety of brewery styles and crafts that are sure to meet your preferences. Here are a few of Indy’s favorite breweries.  

Bier Brewery and Taproom 

At Bier Brewery and Taproom, they focus on providing you with high quality, great-tasting beer. Bier Brewery always has nine beers on tap with up to five of them rotating each week based on the seasons and the brewer’s mood. As a family-owned and operated brewery, they can control every aspect of the brewing process, which leads to a fantastic pint of liquid gold. To add to their greatness, Bier Brewery is dog-friendly, so you don’t have to feel guilty about leaving your four-legged friend at home.  

Cannon Ball Brewing Company 

Cannon Ball Brewing Company is a nanobrewery located near downtown Indy in a century-old building that once served as the local grocery store. A visit to Cannon Ball Brewing Company will have you sipping on a new brew from their rotating beer menu and snacking on their delicious, locally-sourced food.  

Blind Owl Brewery 

Whether you’re into unique brews or the traditional favorites, you’ll love spending some time at Blind Owl Brewery. It’s a small-batch artisan brewery and taproom that’s located in the Binford neighborhood. With hand-crafted food and beer, a full bar featuring 26 taps, seasonal craft cocktails, and live music on Saturday nights, you’re in for a night of fun at Blind Owl. If you prefer the outdoors, head outside to lounge by the cozy fire pits or play a fun game of bocce ball, corn hole, or giant Jenga.  

Fountain Square Brewery 

Fountain Square Brewery is nestled into a low-key, residential area of Indianapolis. Its owners have a background in microbiology, chemistry, and automation, so you know you’ll enjoy a perfectly crafted beer that’s designed to be consistent and long-lasting. The brewery itself boasts an industrial-style feel while adding some art into the mix by featuring local artists and musicians. While the food is limited, the atmosphere makes up for it. This is the perfect place to go to hang with friends and family – furry companions included.  

Guggman Haus Brewing Co 

If you’re an Indy 500 fanatic, you’ll love visiting Guggman Haus Brewing Co, as it was once home to Wilbur Shaw, a three-time Indy 500 champion. While visiting, you can request a tour of the brewery that highlights the house’s past. The Haus’ brew list includes a brown ale, pilsner, hefeweizen, milk stout, New England IPA, and Citra IPA. They also have occasional seasonal and experimental beers to try.  

If you get hungry while you’re enjoying your drink, you have a few options to choose from: you can order from their local food truck, bring your own food, or order a meal from a restaurant nearby. Either way, you’re in for a fun and delicious time.
