Get to Know the 2022 Honda HR-V
Large Interior Space
Despite being towards the small end of SUVs, the Honda HR-V doesn’t compromise on interior space. It’s capable of comfortably seating up to 5 people, with up to 54.5” of shoulder room and 39.3” of legroom.
Carrying luggage isn’t a problem either, with 58.8 cubic feet of space, you can fit almost anything you can think of. And if you’re looking to carry long or tall objects, the rear seats can be folded away, with a 60-40 split meaning you can come up with the perfect balance of cargo space and passenger capacity.
Powerful Hybrid Engine
All HR-Vs boast a potent 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. This gives it enough power to deal with all terrains and any load you put in it.
And this power doesn’t come at the cost of range either. With its fuel consumption of up to 34 miles-per-gallon on the highway and fuel tank capacity of 13.2 gallons, you can potentially travel almost 450 miles without refueling – that’s enough to do a round trip from Indianapolis to Chicago on one tank of fuel.
A Bevy of Safety Features
The HR-V comes with a wealth of safety features, which mean a substantially reduced chance of getting into an accident, and if the worst happens, ensures that you and your passengers are at as little risk as possible. All trims feature a multi-angle rear-view camera, LED daytime running lights, brake assist, and vehicle stability assist, along with a whole host of passive features too.
The premium EX and EX-L trims add Honda Sensing Technologies, a complete electronic safety system. This includes features such as cruise control, forward collision warnings, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warnings, meaning you have little to worry about even at high speeds.
Superb Electronics
All trims of the 2022 HR-V have excellent electronic systems, with even the most basic trim including a five-inch screen, speed-sensitive volume compensation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a four-speaker audio system. The Sport trim upgrades to a 7” touchscreen, as well as adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and increasing the power of the speakers. EX and EX-L trims add another two speakers and HD Radio.
The EX and EX-L trims also come with many other nifty features, such as a power moonroof, heated mirrors, walk-away auto-lock, and automatic climate control. But perhaps the most unique feature offered is support for HondaLink, an app for Android or Apple smartphones that allows you to check fuel range and oil life, as well as providing easy access to the owner’s manual and roadside assistance.
