The 2026 Honda Ridgeline: One Drivetrain, Four Trims

Every 2026 Honda Ridgeline pairs a 280-horsepower V6 and all-wheel drive with a 5,000-pound tow rating on whichever trim you choose. It suits a buyer whose trailers stay within that rating and who wants five seats, a built-in hitch and an open bed with an In-Bed Trunk. The Sport, RTL, TrailSport and Black Edition differ in comfort, trail equipment and payload.

Ridgeline Towing, Payload and Bed

Every 2026 Ridgeline is rated to tow 5,000 pounds, and all four trims share an integrated Class III trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector. The bed’s dimensions are the same on every trim too, so payload is the only hauling figure that differs from one trim to the next.

Payload and Curb Weight by Trim

Payload eases down as curb weight rises with each step up in equipment.

Trim Payload Curb Weight
Sport 1,583 lbs 4,420 lbs
RTL 1,544 lbs 4,480 lbs
TrailSport 1,521 lbs 4,495 lbs
Black Edition 1,509 lbs 4,504 lbs

From the Sport down to the Black Edition, payload falls just 74 pounds, so your trim choice barely changes what the cab and bed can carry.

Every trim has a 6,019-lb gross vehicle weight rating, the most the truck may weigh with passengers and cargo aboard. Its gross combined weight rating is 9,986 lbs, the most the loaded truck and its loaded trailer may weigh together.

Choosing a Ridgeline Trim

Each step up from the Sport adds comfort, trail hardware or both. Here is what each 2026 Ridgeline trim cost at launch and what sets it apart.

Trim MSRP at Launch What Sets It Apart
Sport $40,795 The lowest launch price and the most payload; 18-inch Shark Gray alloys on all-season tires
RTL $43,595 Leather-trimmed, heated front seats; power front seats with driver memory; a one-touch power moonroof; SiriusXM
TrailSport $45,995 Off-road-tuned suspension; all-terrain tires on TrailSport 18-inch Shark Gray alloys; Trail Orange ambient lighting and seat stitching
Black Edition $47,395 Ventilated front seats; heated rear outboard seats; 540-watt premium audio; a truck-bed power outlet; 18-inch Berlina Black alloys

MSRP at launch (2026 model year), excluding destination.

Sport or RTL

The Sport is a complete working truck, with tri-zone automatic climate control, key-fob remote start and Smart Entry with Walk Away. The RTL is the comfort step, and at launch it cost $2,800 more, excluding destination. Beyond its seat upgrades, moonroof and SiriusXM, it adds:

  • HomeLink and an automatic-dimming rearview mirror
  • Heated side mirrors and an acoustic windshield
  • A power sliding rear window

Choose the Sport if you want the most payload and the lowest launch price, and you can do without heated, leather-trimmed or power seats.

TrailSport or Black Edition

Above the RTL, the lineup splits two ways. At launch, the Black Edition cost $1,400 more than the TrailSport, excluding destination. Both add front and rear parking sensors, navigation with HD Radio, a heated steering wheel, LED daytime running lights and power-folding mirrors.

Only the TrailSport gets the off-road-tuned suspension and all-terrain tires, and it is also offered in Ash Green Metallic paint. Its heated, power front seats carry Trail Orange stitching, and it has the RTL’s moonroof, HomeLink, heated side mirrors and SiriusXM. Every trim shares 7.64 inches of unladen ground clearance and the same approach, breakover and departure angles, so the TrailSport’s difference lies in its suspension and tires. The TrailSport gives up 1 mpg on the EPA highway and combined ratings. Choose the TrailSport if your Ridgeline will spend time off pavement.

Apart from its wheels, the Black Edition carries what the RTL adds over the Sport. Along with its seat and audio upgrades, it has two rear USB-C charging ports and red ambient lighting. It rides on all-season tires without the TrailSport’s off-road-tuned suspension, and it carries the least payload of the four trims. Choose the Black Edition if comfort for everyone in the cab matters more than trail hardware.

Inside the Ridgeline Cab

All four 2026 Ridgeline trims seat five, with a 60/40 split lift-up rear seat over 2.9 cubic feet of underseat storage. They share these cab dimensions except front headroom, which is greater on the Sport.

Cab Dimension Front Row Rear Row
Headroom, Sport 40.1 in 38.8 in
Headroom, RTL, TrailSport and Black Edition 39.5 in 38.8 in
Legroom 40.9 in 36.7 in
Shoulder room 62.0 in 61.5 in
Hip room 59.1 in 56.6 in

EPA passenger volume is 109.7 cubic feet on the Sport and 108.9 cubic feet on the other three trims.

Ridgeline Technology and Safety

Every 2026 Ridgeline shares its driver-assist suite and core technology, and a few features change by trim. SiriusXM starts at the RTL, navigation and parking sensors come on the TrailSport and the Black Edition, and premium audio is the Black Edition’s alone.

Honda Sensing on every trim:
